Garlic powder½ tsp
Ground nutmeg¼ tsp

Casserole Ingredients

IngredientAmount
Egg noodles2 ½ cups
Beef broth1 cup
Worcestershire sauce1 tbsp
Heavy cream1 pint
Swiss cheese, grated1 ½ cups
Fresh parsleyChopped, for garnish
Kosher salt & black pepperTo taste

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat

Warm your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Prepare the Meatballs

Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, grated onion, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix just until everything comes together, then shape into meatballs using about 1½ tablespoons per portion.

Step 3: Brown the Meatballs

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium–high heat. Add the meatballs and cook until they’re browned on all sides. They don’t need to cook through at this stage. Transfer to a plate when done.

Step 4: Cook the Noodles

Boil the egg noodles in salted water, stopping about two minutes before the package’s suggested cooking time. Drain and set aside.

Step 5: Prepare the Sauce

Using the same skillet, pour in the beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Scrape up any browned bits from the pan and let the mixture simmer for roughly 10 minutes, until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper and remove from heat.

Step 6: Assemble & Bake

Spread the noodles in the prepared baking dish. Arrange the browned meatballs over the top, then pour the sauce evenly across the dish. Sprinkle the Swiss cheese over everything and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Step 7: Serve

Let the casserole rest for a few minutes, then finish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
