Loaded Cheesy Garlic Naan Bread

There’s something special about baking fresh bread. As soon as garlic butter begins to warm in the oven, the whole kitchen fills with a cozy, irresistible aroma. For me, Cheesy Garlic Naan Bread is that one recipe that can transform an ordinary meal into something memorable.

The first time I made it, it was meant to be just a simple side dish—but it quickly stole the spotlight at dinner. Soft naan filled with melted cheese and brushed with flavorful garlic butter came out perfectly golden. The edges were lightly crisp, the middle stayed tender and stretchy, and every bite felt wonderfully rich. Before long, it became the most requested bread in our home.

Whether served during holidays, alongside weeknight meals, or used to scoop up soups and sauces, this naan never lasts long on the table. It’s simple, full of flavor, and the definition of comfort food.

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the warm water, yogurt, and olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5–6 minutes until smooth and elastic.

2. Allow the Dough to Rise
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a towel. Let it rest in a warm area for around 45 minutes until it becomes slightly puffy.

3. Mix the Garlic Butter
In a small bowl stir together the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Set aside for later.

4. Form the Naan
Divide the dough into six portions. Roll each piece into a circle about 6 inches wide. Place 2–3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture in the center, fold the dough over, and gently roll it out into a flattened oval shape.

5. Cook the Bread
Heat a skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for about 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown spots appear.

6. Brush and Serve
While still hot, brush the naan generously with the prepared garlic butter. Serve immediately while the cheese inside is warm and perfectly melted.

✨ Crispy edges, gooey melted cheese, and rich garlic butter make this naan a comforting and delicious addition to any meal.
