Slow Cooker Ham and Potato Casserole

There’s nothing quite like coming home after a long day to a kitchen filled with the comforting aroma of something delicious cooking. The scent of creamy cheese, soft potatoes, and savory ham slowly simmering together instantly creates a feeling of warmth and home. This Slow Cooker Ham and Potato Casserole has become my favorite choice whenever I want a hearty, family-friendly meal that’s simple to prepare.

The idea first came after a holiday dinner when I was left with plenty of leftover ham but very little energy to cook anything complicated. I wanted a meal that was warm, easy, and satisfying. After a little experimenting, this slow cooker casserole quickly became a staple in my home. It’s creamy, rich, and finished with a layer of melted cheddar cheese—classic comfort food at its best.

One of the best things about this recipe is how convenient it is. You can prepare the ingredients the night before, start the slow cooker in the morning, and let it do the work while you go about your day. It’s ideal for busy weeknights, cozy weekends, or potlucks when you want to bring something homemade and filling.
