Perfect for holiday parties, potlucks, game-day gatherings, or an easy family appetizer, this fuss-free recipe is sure to be a hit with guests.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds frozen, fully cooked cocktail-size meatballs
- 1 bottle (18 ounces) BBQ sauce, sweet or smoky
- 1 can (14 ounces) jellied cranberry sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9 × 13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange the meatballs: Place the frozen meatballs in the prepared baking dish, spreading them into an even layer.
- Prepare the cranberry BBQ sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the BBQ sauce and jellied cranberry sauce. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and easy to pour. Alternatively, warm the sauces together in a small saucepan over low heat.
- Coat the meatballs: Pour the prepared sauce over the meatballs and gently stir to ensure each one is evenly covered.
- Bake covered: Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes, until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce begins to bubble.
- Thicken the glaze: Remove the foil, stir the meatballs to coat them again, and return the dish to the oven uncovered for another 10–15 minutes. Bake until the sauce thickens and develops a sticky, shiny finish. For extra caramelization, broil on high for an additional 2–3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Rest and serve: Let the meatballs stand for 5 minutes so the glaze can cling to each piece. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy sharing.
These sweet-and-savory meatballs are perfect for entertaining and can be served straight from the baking dish or transferred to a warm serving platter.
