Hot Fudge Brownie Bread (Magic Fudge Brownies)
This indulgent dessert is the ultimate chocolate lover’s dream. As it bakes, it forms a moist, cake-like brownie on top with a luscious hot fudge sauce beneath—no extra mixing required. The magic happens in the oven!
For the Brownie Batter:
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| All-purpose flour | 1 cup |
| Unsweetened cocoa powder | 1/2 cup |
| Baking powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Salt | 1/4 teaspoon |
| Unsalted butter (melted) | 1/2 cup |
| Granulated sugar | 1 cup |
| Eggs | 2 large |
| Vanilla extract | 1 teaspoon |
For the Fudge Center:
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Brown sugar | 1/2 cup |
| Unsweetened cocoa powder | 1/4 cup |
| Boiling water | 1 cup |
1️⃣ Preheat & Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish and set it aside.
2️⃣ Make the Brownie Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then stir in the vanilla.
Fold in the dry ingredients just until combined—do not overmix.
Spread the batter evenly into your prepared baking dish.
3️⃣ Add the “Magic” Fudge Layer:
Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder evenly over the top of the batter.
Slowly pour 1 cup of boiling water over everything—do not stir. This step creates the gooey sauce underneath!
4️⃣ Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, until the top looks set but the center still has a slight jiggle. The top will be cakey, and the bottom will be molten fudge.
5️⃣ Cool & Serve:
Let it cool for a few minutes before digging in. The sauce will thicken as it sits. Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
Serving Tip:
This dessert is best enjoyed warm and fresh from the oven, but leftovers can be reheated in the microwave for that gooey center all over again!
