Paula Deen’s Easy 5-Minute Fudge

This well-known, foolproof fudge gets its rich, smooth texture from marshmallows. A true Southern favorite, it’s quick to make and ready in minutes on the stovetop.

Ingredients

| Evaporated milk | ¾ cup |

| Semi-sweet chocolate chips | 6 ounces |
| Large marshmallows | 16 |
| Chopped pecans | 1 cup |
| Vanilla extract | 1 teaspoon |
Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Mixture
In a medium saucepan, stir together the sugar, evaporated milk, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a rolling boil.
Step 2: Boil
Once boiling, let it cook for exactly 5 minutes, stirring often so it doesn’t scorch.
Step 3: Melt Chocolate and Marshmallows
Take the saucepan off the heat. Add the chocolate chips and marshmallows, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
Step 4: Finish the Fudge
Stir in the vanilla extract and chopped pecans until evenly combined.
Step 5: Let It Set
Pour the fudge into a greased 9×9-inch pan and spread evenly. Refrigerate or freeze until fully firm.
Step 6: Cut and Enjoy
Once set, cut into 36 squares. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in a cool location.
