My husband LOVES this cake! Ridiculously easy to make and it turned out amazing

This rich and moist Sweet Wine Bundt Cake gets its signature flavor and texture from the inclusion of instant pudding, sour cream, and sweet white wine in the batter. A simple, buttery wine glaze is poured over the warm cake to ensure a delicious, moist finish.

Ingredients:

IngredientsAmount
Yellow cake mix1 box
Vanilla pudding mix3.4 oz.
Light brown sugar¼ cup
Granulated sugar¼ cup
Cinnamon2 teaspoons
Eggs (room temperature)5 large
Whole milk½ cup
Vegetable oil½ cup
Sour cream1 cup
Sweet white wine (e.g., Riesling)½ cup
Glaze Ingredients:
IngredientsAmount
Salted butter½ cup
Sweet white wine¼ cup
Granulated sugar1 cup

How To Make Sweet Wine Bundt Cake (Often called “Crack Cake”):

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt pan generously with nonstick baking spray and set it aside.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Batter: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, light brown sugar, 41 cup granulated sugar, cinnamon, eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, sour cream, and 21 cup sweet white wine. Beat the mixture until it is fully combined and smooth.
  3. Step 3: Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean and the edges of the cake have pulled away from the pan.
  4. Step 4: Make the Glaze: While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, heat the salted butter, 41 cup sweet white wine, and 1 cup granulated sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove the glaze from heat.
  5. Step 5: Glaze the Cake: Once the cake is done baking, use a bamboo skewer or toothpick to poke holes all over the warm cake while it is still in the pan. Pour the glaze evenly over the cake and allow it to soak up the delicious mixture for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Remove from Pan: After the glaze has been absorbed, loosen the sides of the pan with a spatula and carefully turn the cake out onto a serving plate.
  7. Step 7: Serve and Enjoy: Slice the cake and serve.
