This Italian Drunken Noodles dish puts a bold, flavorful spin on a classic by pairing hearty Italian sausage and soft bell peppers with a garlicky tomato-and-wine sauce. It all comes together in one pan for a fast, comforting meal that’s perfect for busy evenings.

Italian Drunken Noodles

Ingredients:

IngredientQuantity
Cooked egg noodles12 oz
Ground Italian sausage1 lb
Bell peppers, chopped2
Minced garlic3 tsp
Italian seasoning1 tsp
White cooking wine½ cup
Diced tomatoes (undrained)1 can (28 oz)
Dried basil1 tbsp
Salt and pepperTo taste
Grated ParmesanFor serving
Fresh parsley, choppedFor serving

Instructions:

1. Brown the Sausage and Peppers
Place the Italian sausage and chopped bell peppers into a large skillet or deep pot set over medium-high heat. Cook until the sausage is fully browned and the peppers begin to soften, breaking the meat into crumbles as it cooks.

2. Add the Garlic and Herbs
Reduce the heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 30 seconds, just until the garlic becomes aromatic.

3. Add the Wine
Pour in the white cooking wine and scrape the bottom of the pan to release any browned bits. Let it simmer until the wine has reduced by roughly half.

4. Incorporate Tomatoes and Seasonings
Add the entire can of diced tomatoes, including the liquid. Sprinkle in the dried basil along with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well so everything is evenly combined.

5. Toss in the Noodles
Add the cooked egg noodles to the pan. Stir and cook for a few minutes to warm the noodles and coat them thoroughly with the sauce.

6. Serve
Spoon the noodles into serving bowls. Finish with freshly grated Parmesan and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
