Fluffy Cinnamon-Walnut Rolls with Cream Cheese Glaze

  1. Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the softened butter until the mixture has a crumbly texture. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and milk, then gradually mix into the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  2. Roll out the dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Add the filling: Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture.
  4. Form the rolls: Starting at one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log.
  5. Slice: Cut the log into 12 even pieces using a sharp knife.
  6. Let rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, leaving a little space between them. Cover with a clean towel and allow to rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.
