This simple slow-cooker dessert combines apple pie filling, dry cake mix, and melted butter to create a cozy, cobbler-like apple cake with minimal effort.
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Apple pie filling | 2 cans (20 oz each) |
| Yellow cake mix (dry) | 1 box (15 1/4 oz) |
| Unsalted butter, melted | 1/2 cup (1 stick) |
| Ground cinnamon (optional) | 1 tsp |
Grease the inside of a 5–6-quart slow cooker with butter or nonstick spray.
Spread the apple pie filling across the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top if you want extra flavor.
Evenly scatter the dry yellow cake mix on top of the apples. Do not mix the layers.
Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, trying to coat as much of the surface as possible.
Cover the slow cooker and cook:
Turn off the slow cooker and let the dessert stand uncovered for 10–15 minutes to thicken a bit. Serve warm, with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
