Crockpot Cracker Barrel Carrots

There’s something uniquely heartwarming about Cracker Barrel’s classic Southern comfort food. Even though the closest location is hours away, I can still vividly recall their creamy dumplings, rich sides, and, of course, those famous biscuits.

But the dish I keep craving? The glazed carrots.

Yes—carrots. Not the mashed potatoes or the mac and cheese (though they’re great, too). If you’ve ever tried Cracker Barrel’s sweet, buttery carrots, you’ll understand. They’re tender, perfectly seasoned, and downright irresistible. And now, thanks to your slow cooker, they’re incredibly easy to make at home.

🥕 Ingredients

IngredientAmountNotes
Fresh baby carrots2 poundsWashed and trimmed
Salt2 teaspoonsOr to taste
Garlic powder½ teaspoonAdds a subtle savory layer
Unsalted butter2 tablespoonsFor a rich, velvety glaze
White sugar1 tablespoonAdds sweetness
Brown sugar2 tablespoonsDeepens the flavor
Water⅓ cupAids in the cooking process
Fresh parsley (optional)For garnishAdds brightness and color

🍽️ Directions

1. Prepare Your Slow Cooker
Lightly spray the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick spray to prevent sticking.

2. Combine Ingredients
Add all the ingredients to the crockpot except the water and parsley. Stir gently to coat the carrots in the sugars, butter, and seasoning.

3. Add Water & Cook
Pour in the water. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the carrots are soft and easily pierced with a fork.

4. Finish & Serve
Drain off any remaining liquid. Garnish with chopped parsley if using. For an extra touch, sprinkle a bit more brown sugar or sea salt just before serving.

These slow cooker glazed carrots are a wonderful companion to meatloaf, roasted poultry, or as part of a holiday spread. While they may not come with porch rockers or a country gift shop, they do bring a little slice of Cracker Barrel warmth straight to your table.
