Creamy Baked Parmesan Chicken

This dish features juicy chicken breasts baked under a rich yogurt or mayonnaise coating, flavored with garlic and Parmesan, until lightly browned and cooked through.


Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken breasts – 4 (about 1 lb / 450 g)
  • Yogurt or mayonnaise – 1 cup
  • Garlic powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Grated Parmesan cheese – 1 cup
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Cut three shallow slashes across each chicken breast.

Step 2: Make the Sauce
In a bowl, combine the yogurt or mayonnaise with half of the Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3: Optional Marinating
For deeper flavor, refrigerate the chicken in the mixture overnight.

Step 4: Coat the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the chicken on a baking sheet and spread the sauce evenly over each piece.

Step 5: Finish and Bake
Top the chicken with the remaining Parmesan. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the chicken is golden and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 6: Serve
Remove from the oven and serve warm.


Tips

  • Use thick Greek-style yogurt for a lighter alternative to mayonnaise.
  • Swap Parmesan with Asiago or Romano for a different taste.
  • Serve alongside roasted vegetables or a crisp salad.
