Honey Garlic Baked Chicken Drumsticks
📝 Ingredients
- Chicken drumsticks (or chicken legs) – 12 (about 4 lbs)
Marinade
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil – 1 tablespoon
- Low-sodium soy sauce – ¼ cup
- Worcestershire sauce – 2 tablespoons
- Lemon or lime juice – 2 tablespoons
- Honey (or maple syrup) – 5 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced – 6 cloves
- Fresh ginger, grated (or ground ginger) – 1 inch or ¼ teaspoon
- Freshly ground black pepper – ½ teaspoon
- Kosher salt – 1 teaspoon, plus more to taste
- Red pepper flakes – ½ teaspoon
👩🍳 Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, whisk together all the marinade ingredients until smooth and well blended. Set aside.
Step 2: Marinate the Chicken
Place the drumsticks in a large zip-top bag and pour in the marinade. Press out excess air, seal, and refrigerate for several hours or up to 24 hours.
Tip: If you’re short on time, massage the marinade into the drumsticks for about 5 minutes to help the flavors absorb more quickly.
Step 3: Bake the Chicken
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the drumsticks and marinade to a baking dish, arranging the chicken in a single layer.
Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, or until the chicken is deeply golden and reaches an internal temperature of 185°F.
Step 4: Serve
Remove from the oven and serve hot. Spoon the rich pan juices over the drumsticks and enjoy with sides like rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
