Parmesan-Crusted Chicken

Enjoy a restaurant-quality meal at home with this golden, crispy, and cheesy Parmesan-crusted chicken. The meat stays juicy and tender while the flavorful crust adds an irresistible crunch.


Ingredients

Salted butter1 ½ sticks (180g)
Large egg1

Minced garlic1 teaspoon

Black pepper½ teaspoon

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken

Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Using a meat mallet or rolling pin, gently pound the chicken to an even thickness of about ½ inch.

2. Prepare the Coating

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and water. In another dish, combine the Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

3. Coat the Chicken

Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, making sure it’s fully covered. Press the chicken into the Parmesan mixture so the cheese adheres well on both sides.

4. Cook the Chicken

Heat the olive oil and 1 stick of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C). Add the remaining ½ stick of butter during cooking to keep the chicken moist and flavorful.

5. Serve

Transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Serve warm, optionally garnished with fresh herbs, and enjoy your crispy, cheesy masterpiece!
