Triple Cheese Savory Quiche
A rich, cheesy quiche featuring Gruyere, Swiss, and Cheddar. Use a ready-made crust for convenience or make your own for a homemade touch.
Ingredients
Crust:
- Pie crust (store-bought or homemade) – 9 inches
Filling:
- Eggs – 3
- Heavy cream – 1/2 cup
- Whole milk – 1/2 cup
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper – 1/4 tsp
- Nutmeg – 1/4 tsp
- Gruyere cheese, shredded – 1/2 cup
- Swiss cheese, shredded – 1/2 cup
- Cheddar cheese, shredded – 1/2 cup
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust (15 minutes)
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- For store-bought crust, follow package instructions for pre-baking.
- For homemade crust, roll dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish and carefully transfer it.
- Blind bake: Line the crust with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake 10 minutes, then remove weights and paper and bake another 5 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool slightly.
2. Make the Filling (5 minutes)
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, and milk until smooth.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg, mixing well.
3. Assemble and Bake (50–55 minutes)
- Sprinkle shredded Gruyere, Swiss, and Cheddar evenly in the pre-baked crust.
- Pour the egg mixture over the cheese, spreading evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes, until the filling is set and the top is golden. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
4. Serve (10 minutes)
- Let the quiche rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Cut into wedges and enjoy warm. Serve alongside a fresh salad, fruit, or roasted veggies.
