Georgia’s Heavenly Melted Toffee

Indulge in this rich, buttery toffee, perfectly sweet with a satisfying crunch from nuts. It’s a delightful treat for holidays, gifts, or anytime you want a homemade sweet.
Ingredients:
- Unsalted butter – 1 cup
- Granulated sugar – 1 cup
- Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
- Water – 1/4 cup
- Pure vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
- Semisweet chocolate chips – 1 cup
- Chopped pecans or almonds – 1/2 cup
Instructions:
- Prep the Pan
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Toffee
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in sugar, salt, and water until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Assemble the Toffee
- Pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top and let them sit for 1–2 minutes to melt.
- Spread the melted chocolate smoothly over the toffee.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and gently press them into the chocolate.
- Cool and Break
- Allow the toffee to cool completely at room temperature.
- Once set, break it into pieces.
- Optional: sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the chocolate for an extra layer of flavor.
